Casandia Bellevue is an associate attorney with the Community Partnerships Program, and is based in New York.

Casandia joined Earthjustice in January 2022 after spending three years as a staff attorney doing tenant defense work at The Legal Aid Society’s Bronx Neighborhood Office. There, she represented low-income tenants in Bronx Housing Court and New York State Supreme Court proceedings while also advocating to a variety of state agencies on behalf of her clients. Casandia graduated from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law, formerly known as Pace Law School, with certificates in International and Environmental Law. While at Pace, Casandia acted as a student delegate from the Global Center for Environmental Legal Studies to IUCN’s 2016 World Conservation Congress (WCC) in Hawaiʻi. At the WCC, she collaborated with indigenous leaders, diplomats, scientists, and others on motions regarding the implementation of the Paris Agreement, environmental justice, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, among other topics. In 2017, her article, GMOs, International Law and Indigenous Peoples, was published by the Pace International Law Review. Prior to law school, Casandia earned her undergraduate degrees in Environmental Studies and International Relations from Florida International University.
